DESTELLOS DE CARNEVIVA is the solo exhibition by artist Julieta Barderi, for which she presents an installation of more than 90 paintings on sulfite paper made between 2019 and 2021, and two sculptures made of cement and wood.

The materiality and representations in the works allude to the idea of CARNEVIVA as a state of exhaustion; on the one hand, the sulfite paper, overloaded with water and paint, gray like the cement of a wall. On the other, the cement formwork resembles archaeological figures emerging from the floor.

CARNEVIVA warns us that we have already burned our eyes and pierced our legs, but not without offering us hope: a space covered in images that mix a decadent spirit with a magical one.
